Seminars 2018

AGREE 1: Train the Trainer 14 May – 18 May 2018

AGREE 1 2018 kompThe 2018 programme year started with the AGREE 1 Train the Trainer seminar at the European Academy Berlin, attended by 12 alumni in senior positions from eleven Ukraine oblasts. Using competence training and coaching sessions on topics, such as teaching and learning methods in adult education, human resource development and training concepts in the workplace, the participants were trained to become trainers. Following the seminar, the alumni returned to the Ukraine with fresh motivation, new knowledge and concepts developed for their own training courses on practical aspects of good governance.

Seminars 2017

AGREE 1: Train the Trainer 21 May – 25 May 2017

AGREE 1 2017The 2017 programme year started in May with the first Train the Trainer seminar. In preparation for this course, 12 alumni had developed training concepts to optimise the transfer of the knowledge they had gained in Germany on corruption prevention, good governance or cooperation with civil society to their staff and colleagues. Thanks to a training session with Martin Rode, the alumni were able to step into the trainer role at the European Academy Berlin. They also received in-depth technical input from experts, such as Dr Phillip Horrer, specialist lawyer for criminal law.

Seminars 2016

AGREE 1: 17 Jan – 30 Jan 2016

Attending the first AGREE course in 2016 were a total of 12 employees from the Ukrainian Oblast administrations of Lviv, Sumy, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Volyn and Zakarpattia as well as the branch office of the tax inspectorate in Cherkasy Oblast. In the advanced seminar on the topic “Combating corruption: Action – Sanction – Prevention” the participants underwent an exchange of experience with a large number of experts. Course participants engaged in a discussion with Dr Gisela Rüss from Transparency International Deutschland on preventive concepts for administrations of the federal government and länder in Germany. In addition, the group entered into a discussion in the Foreign Office with a representative of the Ukraine task force on the current status of German-Ukrainian relations.

Seminars 2015

AGREE 1: 15 Feb – 21 Mar 2015

The first AGREE course in 2015 was aimed at 12 administrative employees from the regional administrations and ministries of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. Thanks to the trinational format, the participants experienced a transfer of knowledge on several layers. They networked with each other and exchanged views with the German experts on current topics of good governance. In the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, they talked to Jan Busch, Head of the Division for Policy Planning, Management by Objectives, on best practices in political administration. Also included on the group’s syllabus were more detailed discussions on topics such as the prevention of corruption, finances and government action in the cities of Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg, Leipzig and Potsdam.

Seminars 2014

AGREE 1: 31 Aug – 06 Sep 2014

The first of the “Academy for Good Governance and Empowerment in Europe” seminars began on 31 August 2014. Two female and six male participants travelled to Berlin from Kiev and spent a week learning about the most important principles and aspects of good governance in Germany. These officials from different Ministries in Kiev attended a programme which included discussions at the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the Constitutional Court of the State of Berlin. One of the highlights of this visit was the opportunity to talk to Karl-Georg Wellmann, the head of the German-Ukrainian parliamentary group.
